Meet ABKC CH Los Reyes Bella. 🏆
A Champion produced by a Champion, and now a Champion producer. She is the mother of ABKC CH Los Reyes Apolo and the only producing daughter from Berta’s one and only litter.
​We take pride in the fact that our dogs are produced, campaigned, and titled by us with very limited showing—quality over quantity, every time. We’re still breeding to the standard and getting ready to step back into the ring. Watch for us!

The one that started it all for us. Produced, campaigned, and shown by Los Reyes, Berta was a force in the ring.

​At the 2014 Nationals, she took home Best of Champions and came within a hair’s breadth of winning Best of Breed. She retired just two wins away from being a Grand Champion, but her impact on our kennel is permanent.
​She might look fawn, but genetically she was our first cream (intermediate intensity gene). A true powerhouse and the heart of our foundation. 🐾 I wish I had gotten more than one litter out of her. 🤔

ABKC Champion Los Reyes Apolo

​The Genetic Foundation

Apolo was the dog that proved my line carries the cream/recessive red gene. This history starts with our first cream productions: the ABKC Ch. Los Reyes Berta litter. Berta’s parents produced two cream pups; I kept Berta, and because she was intermediate on the intensity gene, she looked fawn.
​Berta produced only one litter, and from that, ABKC Ch. Los Reyes Bella was the only female kept for breeding. Bella is Apolo’s mother. Apolo actually came from an accidental breeding when one of Bella’s sons bred back to her—a very tight breeding that produced two cream pups. I kept Apolo, who turned out to be a "ghost" merle (genetically merle but not visually). Despite that, he became an ABKC Merle Champion, proving his quality was undeniable.

​The Breeding Philosophy

In three generations, you can see the consistency. By having Berta as his grandmother on the bottom and great-grandmother on the top, the line tightened up exactly where it needed to. My approach is simple: I add what I need for genetic variation and diversity to avoid the health issues that come with being too tight, then I tighten it back up to lock in the traits.
​The Los Reyes Signature
Every bulldog in my current program carries Apolo in their pedigree at least once, meaning they carry Bella and Berta multiple times. While the sizes in my current program vary—I still have some big girls—the Los Reyes Signature is guaranteed:

​Massive muscle and thick bone
​Substance with a super thick neck
​The signature "Big Dome"
​They may take a little time to fully mature into it, but with this lineage, that look is almost a guarantee.
